Therapy for Burnout and Chronic Stress 

I provide online counselling for adults in British Columbia (BC) experiencing burnout and chronic stress who have been under too much pressure for too long and want to feel calmer, more balanced, and more like themselves again.

You May Be Experiencing

Many of the people I work with are capable and responsible individuals who have been carrying a great deal of pressure for a long time. Burnout often develops not because someone is weak, but because they have been trying to manage too much for too long without enough support or recovery.

Chronic stress can affect both emotional well-being and the body, often showing up as exhaustion, tension, or difficulty relaxing.

You may recognize some of these experiences in yourself:

  • chronic stress or burnout related to work, caregiving, or ongoing responsibilities

  • persistent anxiety, pressure, or difficulty relaxing

  • patterns of overfunctioning, perfectionism, or a strong inner critic

  • emotional exhaustion, fatigue, or feeling disconnected from yourself after prolonged stress

How I Work

My approach combines reflective conversation with body-based methods that support nervous system regulation while exploring the patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, or burnout.

A central technique I often integrate into sessions is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT tapping). This approach involves gentle tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on thoughts, emotions, or stressful experiences. Many clients find that tapping helps reduce the intensity of emotional reactions and makes it easier to explore underlying beliefs or patterns.

In our work together we may also draw from cognitive-behavioural strategies and insight-oriented exploration to better understand recurring patterns such as self-criticism, overfunctioning, or perfectionism. The goal is to support both practical shifts in thinking and behaviour as well as deeper understanding of how these patterns developed.

In some cases I may incorporate Matrix Reimprinting, an advanced approach developed within the EFT framework. This method can help gently work with emotionally charged memories and the beliefs that formed during earlier experiences while keeping the nervous system regulated.

Sessions may include both conversation and body-based techniques, depending on what feels most helpful and appropriate for the client. Therapy is paced collaboratively, with attention to both emotional insight and how stress is experienced in the body.

Training and Credentials

I am a Master Practitioner of Counselling (MPCC) and a registered member of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA).  I provide online counselling services in British Columbia within the scope of my registration.

My work focuses on supporting adults experiencing burnout and chronic stress and the emotional impact of prolonged pressure or responsibility.

I have additional training in body-based approaches to stress regulation, including certification in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT tapping) Levels 1 and 2, as well as Matrix Reimprinting, an advanced method developed within the EFT framework.

When This May Not Be the Right Fit

This work may not be the best fit if you are:

  • seeking emergency, crisis, or immediate mental health support

  • experiencing active suicidal thoughts or require a higher level of care

  • looking for highly structured or manualized treatment approaches

  • wanting quick techniques or “hacks” to push through burnout without addressing the underlying patterns contributing to stress
